that style... but it drives you insane

So, this outfit drove me insane for a few months because I got the pieces in December and then had to wait for warmer weather to come around. The skirt is American Apparel, obvi on sale b/c no one really wants to wear that color. Well, it's popular in pants, but I don't think it's catching onto other garments. Anywho, it's different and I like that.
I got the tank at Gabes, duh. Gabes has a way of carrying lots of questionable clothing. I think the word "ratchet" comes to mind to describe it best. The kind of clothing that takes advantage of the cut-out and sheer trends, but not in a classy lux kinda way, if you get my drift here. I came across this tank and thought, ew, chinzy lace. Then I was like, wtf, circus yellow stripes?! And then I was like
HELL YEAH
and bought it, even though errbody be judgin.
I just had a feeling it would come in handy for some out landish hipster outfit, the ones that throw together odd and kinda ugly clothing together, hoping their swagger will pull it together. People who think street style is anyone who looks strange really like that thing.

I was actually going to cut the lace out of the back and make it backless, but my lack of sewing skills and my fam discouraged me from doing that. I hate the lace hangin at the bottom, hence my choice of high-waisted things to wear with this tank.

Can you believe I've had those sandals since soph year of high school? Like, seven years ago??

I can be more than a dream...

Hehe, heyllo. I was going into Philly for First Friday and I so do love dressing up for First Friday because, why not? It's the time when normal people leave the financial district and enjoy the "artsy" scene. I will gladly fill the artsy weirdo role that people expect to find there. In this case it is the sexed up grunge artsy weirdo. I just always have those fishnets in my closet just begging to be worn. I wondered, why not  with black sheer tights? why not indeed!
The tank is part of the Prabal Gurung collection with Target and it was like, waaaay too big and baggy and didn't fit right and what. the. hell is that color?! so not me. my mom got it for me (she said I needed to be more colorful and not wear black all the time). Whatever, baggy is in right? and grunge is all about wearing ugly clothes...duh.
The black shorts were originally my dip bleached jean shorts that I just got sick of wishing were black. so I dyed them black. so far so good.

I'll go away... and then come back

Heh, from that title, I should have posted this before I went MIA. Sorry, academics and then moving back home has put this blog on a hiatus. What I remember from this post was that I took these pics during a bit of a rough patch in my social life and was having difficulty posting them without wanting to rant or something. But now... I'm over it. she's still a bitch. So, what I remember was that I wanted to look hella good and off beat, so duh, a white shirt with a white jacket. hey, you don't expect it now do ya, especially with the ubiquitous jean jacket around to steal the show. Who said that jean jacket had to be bluuuueee huh? yeah, that's what I thought. I think my inspiro for this outfit was an outfit for the nastygal vintage site with different colors and I just loved the subtle layering of  proportions and dimensions and other bullshit. blehh. it looks cool.

Starting to make jewelry

I started making metal jewelry a week ago. I like my "game if thrones / rick ross" necklace. What do you think? Too subtle not edgy enough or just plain boring? I think it's girl power. I da boss.
