for the real world

I was not happy with this prepster combination. Basically I wore the shirt with the pants and then got cold so I had to put on a sweater that matched. Ick. However uncool I think this outfit is, there are others who think this is quite great. It is practical. It is classy. It is just barely not non conformist. An outfit for the real world. Since this real world will be sneaking up on me in a few months, maybe it is time I started dressing the way I'll have to once I enter it.

Nah.
Or just wear everything I love to wear in abundance and not give a damn.

this marks the end of 2012

I wore this dress to a holiday party last December, sorry for being so late with everything! More to come I swear! Wouldn't this be great for St. Patrick's Day???? yessshhhh

We go up and down

So this is where I admit to wearing suspenders to actually hold my pants up. Ha, and you thought they were for some sort of statement.

Cancer sucks

I designed this logo on my shirt for a fundraiser here at school. We wore the shirts around as advertising for the event and of course I never turn down a challenge. Boy, this was a challenge! I like what I did though. For the tights I layered sheer black tights over my smurf tights.

Wrote in Blood

Grunge! Love it!

Woops, tried to get rid of the webcam shots, but some just looked too good! Sorry!

Gosh this skirt is so short! I wish I had some cooler looking boots to complete this. The walking boots just kinda drag it all down. However, I absolutely love how the top is HUGE!

I walked into the room dripping...in gold

Wow, I wore this on my birthday last year! Ha! I'm so sorry for never posting in a few months, but now I hope to be back and blogging a bit. I'm feeling wholly unmotivated to dress nicely at all. The weather is just such crap that I rather lie in my dorm room, which feels like a sauna, with no clothes on than put on all the layer and venture outside. Plus, skirts and tights right now with it being in the 20s (F)?! Are you kidding me?! Haha, for all the Northerners laughing at me, I'm going to move south when I graduate and laugh at all you pretending not to be shivering your ass off while I slink about in barely there outfits in the tropical weather.

smurf legs

Eeeek! Sorry for the webcam pics! They'll end soon I swear! I have been DYING to wear these fishnet tights I won as part of my Rocky Horror pre-show initiation (2yrsago!) thing they make unfortunate "Rocky virgins" go through. Well, of course I didn't win the sensible ones, I won the "sex-get-up" ones. So, needless to say, they were a little much to wear by themselves (they even have the 'seam' up the back), but not too much to wear over some other, colored tights! BLUE!
Personally I thought this was a heinous outfit. Basic black mini skirt and black tank, but together they somehow look boxy and then those tights! But, my lovely friends said it looked really good anyway. they lie
eh, my hair looks decent.

sexy lumberjack

Sorry for the webcam pics. Ran out of room on my memory card and I'm too lazy to go get another one!
Heyyyyyyy... sexy lady!
There are kitty faces on that skirt. Ever noticed how awkward it is to say the work "kitties" because it sounds like "kiddies"? I keep asking my mom to send me "kittie pics" of our adorable cats at home, but it only sounds like "kiddie pics" which sounds like child pornography. I NEED ME SOME KITTIE PICS!

I don't know if you've ever been to a sexy lumberjack party... but this theme is like, hella difficult! Plaid and flannel are just not sexy! There are those who find lumberjacks sexy, don't get me wrong, but I've never been one who did or understood those who did. I came up with this outfit a while back, but when consulting my friends, telling them I was going to wear a plaid shirt over a dress, the unanimous answer was a resounding "No".
Well, I guess I forgot to mention that this dress has KITTIES on it! Which, you know, means everything matches with it. Well, this day was warmish and it was "outweek" at school and I decided I'd "celebrate" this event by wearing that most dread, yet most gay of patterns...plaid.
Sorry, not sorry for the gpoy at the end. That pseudo pomp on my head there is just too much to not show you! And I look purdy too, so, ya know....

I'm so super sorry for not posting in what feels like eons! I've been caught up with school work and just general stresses. This all coincided with my camera's memory card filling up and I'm just not willing to go through and delete every exact picture I can live the rest of my life without!
I should have titled this "Power Dyke" haha, I'mma chew yer liver out on the conference room table, corporate ladder be mine! That's my um, snazzy Physics textbook right there, needed some props.
Blue blazer from Forever 21, tank from H&M, pants from Forever 21. simple, sexy, knock your socks off future power dyke.
I take myself seriously.

blerb on fashion/ beauty in general

"But even in a potentially meaningless universe where civilizations crumble, institutions collapse and creatures fade into extinction, there are still a few mathematical certainties: things of genuine quality tend to eternally recur, especially if they're made of heavy cotton duck or decent leather. Nobody ever looks like an idiot in a good peacoat, and (a trick I learned from movie wardrobe girls) people tend to notice how comfortably you rock your silhouette far more than they notice the safety pin holding your hem together or the fact that your buttons don't quite match. (In fact, these charming delicacies of distress are mimicked by top designers, to create the illusion of character and provenance.)
'A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees,' said William Blake. On Church Street I stood underneath a  tree that was having a riotous outburst of pink flowers and I may be far from wise, but eventually I noticed that no matter how much money I threw at it, it didn't get any prettier. It wouldn't have been prettier if I had replanted it on 86th and Madison, either. The point is to recognize the meritocracy in things of value, regardless of their low points of origin, current trendiness or future invisibility. Quality is quality, period. All else is corporate fear, hype, vanity and vexation of the spirit. Foolish is as foolish does."

I found this bit in a clipping from the New York Times of unknown date or year.
