I just went to a 90s party last night which was fun and made me feel like I was 5 again. So then I went and listened to Taylor Swift's 22 to make me feel my age again. right. 

Anyway, I feel like on a small level this outfit is reminiscent of the 90s. Sheer top over just a bra with a dark vest over top. Thrifted pants turned into shorts and ripped sheer tights. I'd tell you the names of the brands, but since I bought all of this in either a thrift store or Gabes, it doesn't really matter anyway. I just love grunge.

Implementing this season's spring trend of the revolutionary combination of black and white because I actually really do like that this spring's fashions were not all florals and pastels which I don't particularly like to wear. I like contrasts, I like bold. Oddly, I do not like color-block.

haha. I noticed this semester I have been trying to find new ways to wear old clothes. You see, I don't have a whole lot of time to shop and I certainly don't have a whole lot of dough to be spending on clothes. This makes things hard and a little less exciting. However, it does mean I'm pushing the boundaries for what I had originally thought my clothes could do for me and the way I had originally envisioned them to be styled. I have worn button downs with this skirt before and liked the results so I thought I'd try it again with this season's ubiquitous denim shirt. 

The pictures just remind me of how not entirely flattering this skirt is on me. whatevs. diva gotta wear what the diva already has.

for the real world

I was not happy with this prepster combination. Basically I wore the shirt with the pants and then got cold so I had to put on a sweater that matched. Ick. However uncool I think this outfit is, there are others who think this is quite great. It is practical. It is classy. It is just barely not non conformist. An outfit for the real world. Since this real world will be sneaking up on me in a few months, maybe it is time I started dressing the way I'll have to once I enter it.

Or just wear everything I love to wear in abundance and not give a damn.

Cancer sucks

I designed this logo on my shirt for a fundraiser here at school. We wore the shirts around as advertising for the event and of course I never turn down a challenge. Boy, this was a challenge! I like what I did though. For the tights I layered sheer black tights over my smurf tights.

Gosh this skirt is so short! I wish I had some cooler looking boots to complete this. The walking boots just kinda drag it all down. However, I absolutely love how the top is HUGE!

Wow, I wore this on my birthday last year! Ha! I'm so sorry for never posting in a few months, but now I hope to be back and blogging a bit. I'm feeling wholly unmotivated to dress nicely at all. The weather is just such crap that I rather lie in my dorm room, which feels like a sauna, with no clothes on than put on all the layer and venture outside. Plus, skirts and tights right now with it being in the 20s (F)?! Are you kidding me?! Haha, for all the Northerners laughing at me, I'm going to move south when I graduate and laugh at all you pretending not to be shivering your ass off while I slink about in barely there outfits in the tropical weather.

smurf legs

Eeeek! Sorry for the webcam pics! They'll end soon I swear! I have been DYING to wear these fishnet tights I won as part of my Rocky Horror pre-show initiation (2yrsago!) thing they make unfortunate "Rocky virgins" go through. Well, of course I didn't win the sensible ones, I won the "sex-get-up" ones. So, needless to say, they were a little much to wear by themselves (they even have the 'seam' up the back), but not too much to wear over some other, colored tights! BLUE!
Personally I thought this was a heinous outfit. Basic black mini skirt and black tank, but together they somehow look boxy and then those tights! But, my lovely friends said it looked really good anyway. they lie
