like whoa girl!

Can I just start by saying I wish I had a better camera! Erg! So hard trying to do a style blog with a (very nice, lovely, wonderful) point and shoot. I NEED SOME LENZZZ.

Anyway. I am noticing how most of my summer stuff is thrifted/free/altered in some way. You've seen these shorts before, but the shirt I got at Goodwill while visiting home. I'm hoping velvet is going to come in style because I'm loving it at the moment... but dang nabbit if velvet wasn't so warm! I need to wait til autumn.

Also, these were shot on UPenn's campus. There is a funny little square in the middle of their main vein walkway that is just paving stones with lots of cutesy little patio tables and chairs. I'm sure this is popular when regular school is in session, but right  now it just looks so sad and out of place!

what to do in the summer?

 So, if you haven't figured out by now, I like to do things on my own, my own way. I messed up the length of these Goodwill mom-pants-to-shorts and decided to make up for it by dip bleach dyeing them. Granted, this is one of my more funkier outfits. Only wear it when I'm feeling especially confident and brave b/c wow does it get strange looks on the street!

I'm not such a fan of actually dressing in the summer. There have been points in my life where I wore nothing but a swim suit of some variety all day during the summer, and I'm not from California. Cut-off shorts and a bra. that is my summer uniform. of course things like internships and jobs get in the way of that. gotta look respectable I s'pose.

Plaid. ver ver lez

 Normally I detest..loath...abhor plaid. BUT. when it is free and I have a plaid themed (lumberjack) event coming up, it is hard to turn down. So, I picked up that very nice tommy hilfigure shirt out of the free box (i'm not explaining) and wore it. I guess this is one femme's idea of lez plaid. HOW DO YOU WEAR SHIT THAT IS UGLY?! It's something I just don't do!
